On the 30th of March, more than 40 students turned up at the Roundhouse to support our fundraiser event for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) ! Beyond raising funds, the event sought to inform our attendees about the services provided by the RFDS, as well as their essential role in providing vital healthcare services to individuals living in rural and remote locations of Australia.
During the event, it was exciting to see all of our participants actively cooperating to answer the challenging questions. It was clear that the dinner provided by AvSoc had provided much energy for the attendees, as the trivia segment featured some intense moments where contestants battled against each other in a bid to snatch as many points and bonus gifts as possible.
Congratulations to the winning teams who walked away with some amazing prizes as mentioned in our previous post – a copy of ‘QF32’, signed by renowned pilot and author Richard De Crespigny, exclusive UNSW Aviation Merchandise and special RFDS Morning Tea Kits! The prizes and fun didn’t stop there as our attendees joined in a surprise bingo game to try their luck, with several lucky winners scoring some high-quality drones and gift cards !
We would like to extend our gratitude to Xan Hardman, the Community Fundraising Coordinator of the RFDS (South Eastern Section) who joined us and opened the night for us with an insightful and eye-opening presentation about the RFDS. Additionally, we would also like to sincerely thank everyone who attended on the night. You did not fail to impress us with your passion for aviation and we thank you for your wholehearted support, donations and active participation throughout the night!
