It was just another usual day at Sydney Airport, however for the Avsoc Peer Mentoring Group, it was a fresh and exciting day full, of thrilling activities. All the groups gathered together on Thursday afternoon for a tour around the Sydney Airport terminals.
The day began at T2 domestic terminal, where the students explored the newly renovated stores and grabbed a bite for lunch. Many of the students admired the new lighting fixtures, floor to ceiling windows and new brands offered in stores, but what stopped our students in their track, was none other than the metal birds.
After exploration of the new T2 floor, our students founded their way to the much underrated Qantas T3 museum. With the 360 windows, all the students watched aircraft take off in awe and admired the picturesque views, which reminded them of why they invested their time studying aviation. There was a lot of history in the museum on Australia’s national airline, if ever you are around the terminal waiting for your flight, it is a great place to stop by to learn more on Qantas and to take a few photos.
We can’t forget the international terminal now can we? Our students took the free airport shuttle, which connected from T2/3 to T1. Despite, being only limited to the landslide this time around, our students still enjoyed and had a great time. They were able to meet and talk with some workers in the airport, which encourage them to build on their career paths in the aviation industry.
The day trip was already amazing enough when everyone who attended had fun and smiles were shared. However, that was not the only thing that was shared. Avsoc was fortunate enough to have our Instagram story shared by none other than Sydney Airport themselves. It was definitely a great experience and an addition for our peer mentor program.
